How to Connect GitHub
Let Andy use your merged pull requests, releases, and closed issues as material for product update posts
The GitHub integration lets Andy read your repositories so it can draw on what you shipped -- merged pull requests, releases, and closed issues -- as material for product update posts.
GitHub is available on every plan, including Free.
Connecting GitHub here makes it available. Andy only uses it once you also turn on GitHub under Content sources in Andy's Posting Routine -- Andy uses recent activity from your selected repositories as background material when it writes your scheduled posts, rather than turning each merged pull request into a post of its own.
Connect your GitHub account
Open the Integrations settings
Navigate to Settings > Integrations and select GitHub.
Install the GitHub App
Click Connect. You are redirected to GitHub's app installation screen. Choose to install on all repositories or select specific ones, then confirm.
Return to Reepl
After installing, you are redirected back to Reepl. GitHub now appears as connected.
Choose which repositories Andy reads
On the GitHub integration page, tick the repositories Andy should read for changelog posts. This list only shows what you granted on GitHub's install screen -- to add a repository that isn't listed, go back to GitHub and grant access to it, then refresh the list here.
What Andy can access
- Read-only access to repository contents and metadata
- Read-only access to pull requests
- Read-only access to issues
These permissions are enforced by GitHub itself, not by Reepl -- the Reepl GitHub App is registered with read-only access, so it cannot write to your repositories.
How it works
Once connected and turned on as a content source, Andy draws on merged pull requests, releases, and closed issues from the repositories you selected when it writes your scheduled posts. Pick several repositories so one workspace's content can cover your whole product.
