Create visual content with MCP
Edit carousels and use Advanced image generation, uploads, media imports, and previews.
Carousel drafting and editing are available in the core MCP tool set. Image generation, media library tools, uploads, imports, and post previews require the Advanced connection at https://mcp.reepl.io/mcp.
Create and edit a carousel
- Ask the client to write slide titles and body text and create a draft with
create_carousel_draft. - Read it with
get_carousel_draft. - Revise slides, order, layout, theme, or fonts using the carousel editing tools.
- Apply workspace branding with
carousel_apply_brandif appropriate. - Review the carousel in the web editor before finishing publication.
The tool creates a draft from the slide content you provide. A saved carousel draft is not a published social post.
Generate an image
Ask the client to call generate_image with a style and the post's context. It uses built-in generation where available and can fall back to a connected Gemini key. Plan access and credit costs still apply.
If the result contains a jobId, check it with check_image_generation_status. Wait for the result before starting another generation. Successful images are added to the acting workspace's media library.
Upload your own image
Use create_media_upload to start an upload session. Open the returned Reepl upload page, choose the image, then ask the client to call finish_media_upload with the session ID. The upload-page link lasts 15 minutes.
Clients with a local file upload capability can use the returned direct upload instructions instead. Completing the upload still requires finish_media_upload.
Import or reuse an image
import_media_from_url accepts a public HTTPS image URL. In supported ChatGPT clients, it can also accept a file attachment through the tool's file parameter. Use list_media to find images already in Reepl.
Uploads and imports support JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP images up to 10 MB. Use the saved image URL in the same workspace when drafting or publishing.
Preview before publishing
Use preview_post for a LinkedIn or X image post. It shows an approximate layout and does not save or publish the post. The client may show an interactive preview or another supported result format.
Check the text and images, then confirm the publishing destination. See MCP publishing.
