Draft, schedule, and publish with MCP
Create content for a specific workspace and account, then verify the returned publishing status.
Before you start
Connect the social account in Settings → Channels. Scheduling and publishing tools require Act on your social accounts in the MCP consent flow, plus the underlying feature's plan and account permissions.
Read the writing context
Ask the client to list your workspaces, select one, and read get_workspace_context, get_voice_profile, and any relevant audience profile. Give it the facts and experience you want to include.
Save a draft
For LinkedIn, use create_draft; for X, twitter_create_draft; for Reddit, reddit_create_draft. Review the returned draft before publishing. LinkedIn post text supports plain text and line breaks; Markdown syntax such as **bold** appears literally.
Choose the account
Ask the client to call channels_list and show the selected account. Pass its channel_id when using a publishing tool that accepts it. Confirm the workspace as well.
Schedule or publish
For an existing LinkedIn draft, schedule_draft preserves the draft's target unless you explicitly choose another channel. For new LinkedIn text, use schedule_post or publish_to_linkedin. X and Reddit have their own publishing tools.
For scheduling, give a date, time, and timezone. The LinkedIn scheduling tools require an explicit offset, at least two minutes in the future, and round to a 15-minute slot. Check the time returned by the tool.
Verify the status
Ask the client to show the returned status, account, and scheduled time or live link. Follow up with a read of the post if publishing is still processing.
Example requests
Create a LinkedIn draft in my Acme workspace about our onboarding lesson. Use my writing style. Show me the draft before scheduling it.
Show the connected accounts, then schedule draft
DRAFT_IDto my LinkedIn profile on October 12, 2026 at 08:00 Asia/Kolkata. Confirm the actual scheduled time returned by Reepl.
Replace the date with the one you intend to use. 2026-10-12T08:00:00+05:30 is an example of an explicit timezone offset.
Approval and processing
| Result | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft saved | The content exists but is not queued for publishing. |
| Requires approval | A reviewer must act before it can publish. |
| Scheduled | It is waiting for the returned time. |
| Publishing or accepted | Processing is still underway; check again. |
| Published | Confirm the live link when available. |
| Error | Read the error and check whether other destinations already succeeded. |
For Reddit, first read the subreddit rules and perform the rule check. The publishing tools ask for confirmation before proceeding. Check flair and other required fields for that subreddit.
Revise current content
When an update tool accepts a content revision, use the revision from a fresh read. If someone changed the post meanwhile, reload before editing again. This prevents overwriting a teammate's newer version.
Use approvals_read and the review tools for approval workflows. See Tools reference.
