Watching for Mentions of You
Track your name, brand, or website across Reddit, Hacker News and news, and see every hit in the Mentions filter of your Signals inbox.
Signals normally brings you things worth posting about. The watch list narrows part of that to one question: is anyone talking about you?
Add the names, brands, and websites you care about, and Reepl watches Reddit, Hacker News, and news for them. Every hit shows up under the Mentions filter in your Signals inbox.
Setting up your watch list
Open Signals
Go to Signals in the sidebar and find Mentions of you.
Add names and brands
Type a name and press Enter or comma to add it. Your own name, your company, your product, a nickname people actually use.
You can watch up to 10 names or brands.
Add websites
Add domains the same way, for example reepl.io. Reepl matches links to those sites, which catches the times someone shares your work without naming you.
You can watch up to 5 websites.
Both lists are optional. Leave them empty and Signals just works as normal.
Reading your mentions
Open the Signals inbox and filter to Mentions. Each hit is a normal signal, so you can save it, dismiss it, or send it straight to the composer to reply publicly with a post of your own.
Mentions also get top billing in the daily email digest: they show up in their own section at the top of the email, ahead of your other signals.
Very short terms match too much to be useful, so there is a minimum length. If a term is rejected for being too short, use a fuller version: a surname rather than initials, or the full product name.
What this does not cover
Mentions come from Reddit, Hacker News, and news sources. X is not included here.
For X, the Engagement feed has its own Mentions tab that reads mentions of your connected account directly from X and refreshes every 8 hours. The two are separate features watching separate places. Use both if you want the full picture.
There is one signal profile per workspace, and the watch list is part of it, so it is shared by everyone on the team. Only owners and admins can change it; other members see it read-only.
