Long-Form Articles
Write long-form articles in Reepl and publish them to your own WordPress, Wix, or Ghost site, with per-destination status tracking.
Posts are short. Articles are not. The article editor is for the long piece that belongs on your own site, a full write-up with headings, images, and formatting, which you can then publish straight to WordPress, Wix, or Ghost without copying anything by hand.
Start an article with New → Article (also available as Write an Article). Open saved articles from Create → Content.
Before you start: Publishing to WordPress, Wix, or Ghost requires a Premium plan or higher.
Writing an article
The editor supports the structure long-form actually needs: headings, bold and italic, lists, blockquotes, inline images, a cover image, an excerpt, and a slug. There is a preview so you can see how it reads before it goes anywhere.
Articles save as drafts while you work.
Publishing to WordPress
Connect your site
Open Settings → Integrations and connect WordPress. The Reepl plugin is the recommended way to connect:
- Download the Reepl plugin from the connect dialog.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and upload the zip.
- Activate the Reepl plugin.
- In WordPress, go to Settings → Reepl and click Connect to Reepl.
No WordPress password is needed with the plugin. If you would rather not install a plugin, use Connect with an Application Password instead in the same dialog: you will need your site URL, your WordPress username, and a WordPress Application Password, not your normal login password. Create an application password from your WordPress profile page; it needs permission to create posts.
The Reepl plugin also powers the separate [reepl_posts] shortcode, which shows your public Reepl posts as cards on any WordPress page. That is a different feature from article publishing, but the same plugin handles both.
Pick the destination
In the article editor, choose WordPress as the destination. You can connect Wix and Ghost the same way (see Other destinations below) and pick any combination of them for one article.
Publish
Reepl sends the article, including its formatting, images, excerpt and slug, and tracks the result per destination. When it lands, the destination shows Published with a link to the live post.
If your WordPress plugin is set to Save as draft, the destination shows Draft instead. The post is in WordPress but has no public link. You can publish that draft from WordPress; Reepl will continue to show the delivery as Draft because it does not sync later WordPress status changes. Changing the plugin setting to Publish immediately applies to future Reepl articles; retrying the completed delivery does not promote the draft.
Publishing is tracked per destination, so a failure against one site does not lose the article or affect any other destination. Retrying a delivery will not create a duplicate post on the remote site.
Two webhook events cover public publishing outcomes: article_published when it is published, and article_publish_failed when delivery fails. Saving a WordPress draft emits neither event. See Webhooks.
Other destinations
Wix
Open Settings → Integrations and connect Wix:
- Install the Reepl app on your Wix site from the install link in the connect dialog.
- Open the Reepl app from your Wix site's dashboard (Apps section).
- Click Connect to Reepl there to finish linking your site.
The Reepl app for Wix is free to install, and there is no separate Wix App Market plan to buy. Publishing itself is covered by your Reepl Premium plan.
Your site must also have Wix Blog installed. The Reepl app sends articles to Wix Blog; the separate Reepl Posts widget displays your public Reepl posts on a Wix page.
Ghost
Open Settings → Integrations and connect Ghost with your site URL and an Admin API key. In Ghost Admin, go to Settings → Integrations → Add custom integration, then copy the Admin API key into the connect dialog.
Once connected, choose Ghost as a destination in the article editor the same way as WordPress. Publishing carries over the cover image, tags, slug, and excerpt.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause |
|---|---|
| Publishing fails immediately (WordPress, Application Password) | The application password is wrong, or its user cannot create posts. Regenerate it and reconnect. |
| Publishing fails immediately (Ghost) | The Admin API key is wrong or was revoked in Ghost Admin. Create a new custom integration and reconnect. |
| The integration disconnected | Reconnect in Settings → Integrations. Publishing fails safely while disconnected rather than half-creating a remote post. |
| Formatting looks wrong on the site | Your site's theme controls the final rendering. Check the post on WordPress, Wix, or Ghost to confirm the content arrived intact. |
